You play an investigator trying to survive the growing horror by solving cases and confronting what lies behind them. Each run strings together five investigations drawn from a pool of cases. Explore locations, encounter strange events, gather clues, and make choices that can lead to different outcomes. Random encounters and stat checks make the results uncertain. Manage health, sanity, and a rising DOOM meter as you decide how much to investigate and when to conserve resources. Combat is turn-based, with actions to plan around; completing cases and challenges can unlock characters, items, and other content.
