Set during China's Three Kingdoms era, the game casts you as officers fighting for Wei, Wu, Shu, and Jin. Story Mode follows each kingdom's campaign through major battles, with officers changing as the story progresses.
Combat sends you against large armies using attacks, special moves, and two switchable weapons. Battles also include objectives that guide you across each battlefield.
Conquest Mode offers battles to revisit, while Legend Mode adds revamped scenarios and stories for individual heroes. Challenge Mode features four courses, and weapons, outfits, and music from included downloadable content are available in the game.
