Trauma follows a young woman recovering in a hospital after a car accident. In her dreams, she encounters scenes tied to her identity and her response to losing her parents.
Players navigate dream environments in a first-person, point-and-click style, exploring photographic scenes and solving light puzzles. A gesture-based interface lets players interact with the dreams in unconventional ways, including drawing symbols.
Exploration reveals collectible photographs and memory fragments. These can unlock additional functions, and the dream sections offer alternate endings.
In this small review sample, players who enjoy Trauma often point to its unusual photographic visuals and subdued, dreamlike atmosphere, which make its exploratory scenes engaging. Some also appreciate the light puzzle-solving, though other reviewers find the experience very short or the story and puzzles slight.
