In a fantasy land afflicted by a curse, you lead a party of heroes on missions to confront the forces threatening the realm. Choose from ten heroes with distinct classes and form a party of three.
The campaign spans four acts, with encounters, dungeons, and decisions that can involve dice rolls. Other modes include Realm, a roguelite challenge through changing encounters; Adventure, with procedurally generated areas and solo challenges; and Skirmish, where two players pit parties against each other.
Battles are turn-based and use each hero’s skill cards. Develop heroes by choosing attributes and skills, shaping their decks, and equipping weapons, armor, and trinkets. Equipment, sockets, and runes can add effects or alter cards, while difficulty options include a permadeath mode.
Players who enjoy Gordian Quest often praise its tactical card battles and the range of ways to build heroes through skills, equipment, and party choices. Some also value the Realm mode and replay options. Other supplied reviews describe the campaign as long or repetitive, and mention unclear mechanics, uneven balance, or a thin story, so reactions to the game’s systems and pacing vary.
