You take on the role of an unlikely hero entering the dungeons beneath the earth to confront Lord Dredmor. The dungeon is randomly generated, and exploration unfolds in a turn-based, top-down format.
Move through rooms, battle monsters, handle traps, and collect weapons, armor, potions, and crafting materials. Point-and-click controls let you take actions such as using items and casting spells.
Create a character by choosing seven skill groups, combining combat, magic, and other abilities into a build. Difficulty settings offer different challenges, and permadeath can be enabled or disabled for a run; crafting lets you turn gathered materials into equipment and other items.
