Castlevania Anniversary Collection

This collection brings together eight early Castlevania games, following Belmont vampire hunters and their allies as they confront Dracula and his monsters. It includes the original Castlevania, Simon's Quest, Dracula's Curse, Super Castlevania IV, The Adventure, Belmont's Revenge, Bloodlines and Kid Dracula.

Most entries are side-scrolling action platformers: advance through enemy-filled stages, use a whip and other weapons, avoid hazards and fight bosses. Their deliberate movement and demanding jumps make learning enemy patterns and timing attacks central to making progress.

The games vary in structure and abilities. Dracula's Curse has branching routes and recruitable allies, Simon's Quest adds open-world exploration and day-night changes, and Super Castlevania IV gives Simon more ways to use his whip. The collection also provides save states and a digital history book.

Players who enjoy the collection often praise its lineup of classic games, memorable music and challenging stages that reward learning enemy patterns and mastering precise movement. Several also value revisiting games from childhood or discovering how the series developed, and mention save states as a way to practice difficult sections. Many reviews also report audio crackling and other PC-port issues.
