In a near-future society shaped by a dominant AI and a shared neural network, Nathan makes a living smuggling modified hardware and cracked software off the grid. When his girlfriend Jay disappears after leaving a cryptic message, Nathan sets out to find her.
Explore scenes, inspect objects, talk with characters, and solve puzzles by using or combining inventory items. Nathan's custom headset lets him switch augmented reality on or off, revealing different details in the world.
The search leads from the city into a wider journey involving Jay's hacker group and AVR technomancers. Players can choose a more traditional, challenging mode or an easier Story mode.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its detailed pixel art, electronic soundtrack, and cyberpunk atmosphere, with some also enjoying its story and retro adventure feel. The most recurring reservation is that puzzles can be difficult to infer, sometimes prompting repeated searches or walkthrough use; opinions on the story and characters are mixed.
