Set in Detroit in 2038, the story follows three androids as they confront a society built around machines serving humans. Connor investigates androids who break from their assigned roles, Kara tries to protect a child, and Markus becomes involved in the struggle over android freedom.
Move through cinematic scenes by exploring locations, examining clues, talking with characters, and making dialogue choices. Investigations, pursuits, and tense encounters also use timed button prompts, while the perspective shifts among the three protagonists and their storylines develop alongside one another.
Choices can change events, relationships, and character fates, with some decisions made under time pressure. Chapter-end flowcharts show paths taken and missed; replaying chapters lets you explore alternatives and see how different decisions shape the continuing story.
Players frequently praise the consequential choices and branching story, saying they make the characters’ fates feel personal and encourage reflection on decisions. Many also enjoy the three protagonists, emotional storytelling, and cinematic presentation, including the performances and facial animation. Some reviewers find the hands-on gameplay limited, and others criticize parts of the writing or note that replaying scenes can feel repetitive.
