You enter a randomly generated 2D world with basic tools and decide how to make your way through it. Gather resources, build shelter, and explore the surface and underground while facing hostile creatures.
Dig through caves and other biomes for materials and discoveries, then craft weapons, armor, tools, and decorative items. Build and furnish homes that can attract NPC allies, or shape your surroundings with larger structures and mechanisms.
Combat and equipment develop alongside exploration: prepare for bosses and events, choose gear to suit different fighting styles, and use victories to access new materials and tougher challenges. You can play alone or cooperate with friends, and starting a new world offers a different layout to explore.
In this selected sample, reviewers often enjoy the steady cycle of exploring, finding materials, improving equipment, and taking on new bosses. They also praise the freedom to build, the range of activities and builds, replaying with different approaches, and sharing adventures with friends. Some reviewers say the early game can be confusing and that bosses or rare-item hunts can be demanding.
