You play as Zan, an orc warrior caught up in a demonic invasion of her homeland. The campaign follows her through an underground world where ancient and medieval cultures meet crystal-powered technology, and where her orc allies become part of the fight.
Combat uses first-person shooting and a varied arsenal, including weapons with alternate firing modes. Between battles, explore large, interconnected levels, search for keys and clues, solve puzzles, and uncover secrets tucked into the environment.
Progression moves through conventional levels as well as RPG-style clusters and hubs. You can talk with characters, take on side and hidden quests, and recruit orc allies to fight alongside you. Six difficulty settings alter the challenge and, in the melee-focused option, replace the regular arsenal with melee weapons.
