You awaken in a field of snow with no memory of even your name. The local monstrosities nearly devour you before you meet your rescuer, a beautiful girl named Kuon—who has animal ears and a tail. She names you Haku⸺ The Japanese hit tactics-RPG visual novel series returns to PC at last!

Haku wakes in a snow-covered wilderness with no memory of his name or past. After Kuon rescues him, he enters a new world of unfamiliar customs, companions, and political tensions.
The story unfolds largely through visual-novel scenes, following Haku and a broad cast through humorous daily encounters and the changing events around them. As the setting’s conflicts grow, the narrative shifts toward a more serious struggle.
Between story sections, players deploy characters in turn-based tactical battles, moving units, choosing attacks and skills, and timing inputs during attack and defense chains. Building Zeal lets characters unleash powerful Final Strikes, while an in-game codex gathers information about the world and its characters.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its character-focused story, lively daily-life scenes, and detailed fantasy setting, with the cast and emotional later developments making the long buildup worthwhile for them. Reviews also frequently commend the music and voice acting. Some players, however, find the early pacing drawn out and the tactical battles too simple or infrequent.
