Iron Meat is a side-scrolling run-and-gun shooter set in an apocalyptic future where an interdimensional biomass called The Meat mutates people and machines. As soldier Vadim, you fight the outbreak linked to experiments on the Moon.
Run through stages firing in multiple directions, jumping and crouching to avoid enemies and hazards. Collect weapons to fill two slots; picking up a duplicate strengthens that weapon. Boss encounters feature multiple phases and attacks to dodge.
The campaign spans nine levels and offers three difficulty settings, as well as two-player local co-op. Unlockable character skins can be customized by mixing parts, and additional modes and modifiers provide ways to replay the action.
Players often praise Iron Meat’s fast, classic run-and-gun action, distinctive pixel-art monsters and settings, energetic soundtrack, and memorable bosses. Some enjoy replaying levels for unlockables or playing locally with a friend. Criticisms include the campaign’s short length, while comments on controls, difficulty, and level hazards vary.
