You play as a demolition contractor pulled into illicit jobs involving theft, sabotage, and other work for powerful clients. The story campaign spans 40 missions, with objectives such as stealing valuables or vehicles and avoiding security robots.
Before a timed mission, explore the map and prepare a route. Break walls, move objects, drive vehicles, and use tools or explosives to create shortcuts; then make a fast run to collect the targets. Missions encourage planning and experimentation, with different ways to alter the environment and reach objectives.
Search environments for hidden valuables to upgrade your tools and arsenal. Sandbox mode provides unlimited resources for free-form destruction, while multiplayer supports up to 12 players in campaign, sandbox, or community-made modes. Built-in mod support and an editor let players create maps, tools, vehicles, and game modes.
Players often enjoy turning destructible environments into their own routes and solutions, and watching voxel structures break apart. Reviews also praise the freedom to experiment in sandbox mode, the range of community mods, and playing cooperatively with friends. Some particularly value the campaign’s planning puzzles and the game’s presentation, though others find missions repetitive or frustrating.
Plan and execute the perfect heist in a fully destructible world. In Teardown, anything can be broken, moved, or turned into a shortcut. Take your time and use creative problem-solving, brute force, and everything around you to create an efficient path through the level.
Run, jump, drive, slingshot. Do whatever you need to collect targets, avoid robots, or steal whatever your clients ask for, alone or together with friends in multiplayer. And whatever you do… don’t get caught.
