In Fairhaven, you are a street racer working toward the city’s Most Wanted rivals. There is no traditional story campaign; progression centers on earning Speed Points and unlocking challenges against the top ten racers.
Explore the open city, find cars parked around the map and switch between them. Each car has its own races, alongside activities such as speed challenges, jumps and billboards to smash. Police pursuits can break out as you race or roam.
Races and other activities earn Speed Points, while winning races unlocks performance parts for the car you used. Accumulate enough points to challenge a Most Wanted rival; online, players can vote on event playlists, and Autolog tracks scores, speeds and times for comparison with friends.
Reviewers who enjoy the game often praise its fast, crash-heavy arcade driving, free roaming, police pursuits, and soundtrack or car sounds. Recurring criticisms include the mismatch between this game and expectations set by the 2005 Most Wanted, problems accessing the game through the EA launcher, paid car DLC, and limited customization or repetitive progression.
