You play as Ada, a reactivated Shaper fighting to reclaim New Elysium from the Overlords and their corrupted robots. Each run takes you through their towers, where you clear enemy-filled arenas and face the Overlords who control them.
Fight with guns, abilities, dashes, jumps, and a powerful melee punch. Striking stunned enemies can restore shields, and enemies knocked back by the punch can collide with others. Towers also include movement challenges, optional paths, and hidden upgrades.
Choose two Cores to shape your abilities and available upgrades, then adapt your loadout with weapons and modifiers found during a run. Between runs, unlock weapons, abilities, and permanent upgrades; after defeating the final boss, add difficulty modifiers for later attempts.
