In this third-person survival horror prequel, special agent Dalila Reyes is sent by H.A.D.E.S. to investigate a secret experimental research facility. When the mission goes wrong, she must explore its isolated rooms and corridors while uncovering what happened there.
Combat combines firearms with the Frost Grip, a device that freezes enemies. Reyes can also use an arm-mounted scanner to examine parts of the environment, uncover clues and hidden items, and help solve environmental puzzles.
Exploration involves finding documents, collectibles, ammunition, and health items while managing inventory. Weapons and the Frost Grip can be upgraded, and players can choose a difficulty suited to their experience.
Players who enjoyed the game often point to its tense facility atmosphere, visual and audio presentation, and the distinctive freezing-based combat. Some also appreciate the more fluid gameplay compared with Daymare: 1998 and the exploration and level design. Views on the story and horror elements are mixed, and recurring criticisms include limited enemy and weapon variety and frustrating encounters.
