Before the mansion, before the destruction of Raccoon City, there was Resident Evil 0. Now remastered with improved visuals and sounds, as well as the all-new Wesker Mode, there's never been a better time to experience the origins of the Resident Evil story.

Set before the mansion incident, Resident Evil 0 follows S.T.A.R.S. rookie Rebecca Chambers as she investigates unusual murders and encounters Billy Coen, an escaped convict, aboard a stopped train. The two must work together to survive the infected threats around them.
Explore connected locations, fight zombies and other creatures, conserve ammunition and healing supplies, and solve puzzles. Fixed camera angles and a choice of classic or modernized controls shape movement and combat.
Switch between Rebecca and Billy, whose different abilities help with puzzles and exploration. Each has limited inventory space, and items left behind remain on the floor for later retrieval. Completing the main story unlocks Wesker Mode; the remaster also adds HD visuals, widescreen support, and improved sound.
Players who enjoy the game often point to its eerie settings—especially the train—its classic survival-horror atmosphere, and the pairing of Rebecca and Billy. Reviews also praise the music, visual presentation, puzzles, and the tension of managing scarce resources. Others find the same systems frustrating, particularly the limited inventory and frequent trips to retrieve items.
