After moving to the big city, you take a temporary data-entry job processing lost mail that automated systems cannot read. At a terminal, you examine damaged images of letters and postcards and enter the text you can decipher.
Your workdays are punctuated by trips between your apartment and the job. As you handle other people’s mail, unusual messages and changes in your surroundings complicate the routine.
Typing prompts and damaged text form the central gameplay, with some entries requiring you to work out what belongs in the field. Buried secrets and multiple endings offer further discoveries, and the mail can vary between playthroughs.
Many reviewers praise the slow-building dread and oppressive atmosphere, often highlighting how the typing job makes the horror feel immediate and ties it to isolation and monotonous work. The sound design and the unusual use of transcribing mail as storytelling also recur as positives. Some players find the repeated typing tedious, and others criticize the restrictive save system, difficult-to-read visuals, or obscure progression.

you got yourself an apartment, and secured a temp data entry job- just to keep you afloat till something better comes along. YOUR OFFICIAL TITLE IS A DATA CONVERSION OPERATOR, but you're really more like a warm body who types up all the junk computers still can't read.

you go to work & process the images displayed on your terminal, and type up whatever random text is in front of you. Whatever can be made out, that is.
Sometimes the mail you receive is a little strange- letters and lost mail, some mangled and twisted, that have travelled from place to place with nowhere else to go.
Sometimes, it feels like it's talking to you directly through the screen...
