A few months after Trails from Zero, Lloyd Bannings and the expanded Special Support Section take on new duties in Crossbell. As political tensions rise between the city-state and its powerful neighbors, the team works to protect their home and stay united.
Play through story chapters, take on cases, explore Crossbell and its surrounding areas, and meet residents whose lives add detail to the city. Turn-based battles pit the team against enemies, with character abilities and coordinated attacks shaping each fight.
Customize characters’ combat builds with Master Quartz, which provide bonuses and develop new abilities as they level up. Burst can give the party a temporary advantage in battle, while a team car provides another way to travel between visited places. Save data from Trails from Zero can also carry over bonuses and affect some story scenes.
