You play Peter, a Cambridge academic stranded in Antarctica after a plane crash. As he searches the icy landscape for help, memories of his relationship with fellow academic Clara return.
Walk through Antarctic settings, drive along set routes, and interact with the environment. During conversations, choose emotion icons to guide Peter's tone; if you do not respond in time, the game selects for you.
The story moves between Peter's present-day ordeal and his Cambridge past, where academic ambitions and Cold War politics shape his relationship with Clara. Its cinematic, linear progression uses these shifts to develop the characters and themes, while dialogue choices do not change the overall story direction.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its interwoven story of Peter and Clara, cinematic transitions between past and present, distinctive visual style, voice performances, and atmospheric music. Some find its reflective themes and characters compelling, while others feel the pacing is slow and the limited interaction—especially choices with little effect on the story—makes it feel more like a film than a game. Reactions to the ending also vary.
