Ruby is a princess fighting to reclaim the ruined Scarlet Kingdom from a witch and her Bloodstained monsters. Between battles, she returns to a monastery, spends time with companions, and uncovers pieces of the kingdom’s past.
Combat centers on Focus: watch an enemy to build marks on its weak point, then spend them on a powerful strike. Staying close builds marks faster, while a hit wipes away unspent marks; precise dodges and counters against grabs or airborne attacks can build them too.
The journey is built around boss encounters, with resources from defeated foes used to strengthen Ruby, unlock skills, and craft talismans for different combat setups. The monastery provides brief opportunities to explore newly opened areas and find story details between fights.
