Set in the 17th-century Caribbean, the game puts you in the role of a young captain seeking influence across the region. Choose a Trader campaign focused on economic growth or an Adventurer campaign centered on piracy and conflict, or combine both approaches in Free Play.
Buy goods where they are plentiful and sell them where demand is higher. Establish trade routes, automate convoys, build industries, and develop cities as supply and demand shape prices across the region.
The Adventurer path offers raiding, privateering, invasions, and naval battles, while trade and production can also support your rise. The game includes 16 ship types, trade with 60 cities, and multiplayer for up to four players.
Players who enjoy the game often praise planning trade routes, growing fleets and businesses, and watching a Caribbean trading empire take shape. Some also value the slower, relaxed pace and the option to turn toward piracy. Other reviews find naval combat underwhelming or the gameplay repetitive, and several report crashes, freezes, or loading problems.
