Lead an army through a World War II real-time strategy campaign as Major Joe Sheridan, with missions spanning North Africa and Western Europe. Build bases, manage resources, and produce forces to contend for control of the battlefield.
Command infantry, tanks, artillery, and aircraft, using each faction’s distinct strengths to plan attacks and defenses. R.U.S.E. cards let you conceal forces, create decoys, gather intelligence, or influence how troops behave, making deception part of the battle plan.
Play the story campaign, standalone Operations, customizable skirmishes against AI, or multiplayer matches. Some modes offer all units from the start, while Total War unlocks new bases and units across three eras; matches can be won by eliminating the enemy or leading on points when time runs out.
Players often praise the deception mechanics, which let them mislead opponents and make intelligence part of the strategy, as well as the range of tactical approaches across factions and units. Reviews also highlight the zoomable battlefield view, replayable matches, and campaign; many express affection for the game and excitement at its return. Some players criticize faction balance and describe hostile experiences in online matches.

Bluffing lies at the heart of the strategic experience. RUSE are special cards you can activate at any moment to influence enemy perception, reinforce your troops, or gain crucial intelligence. They provide unprecedented gameplay depth, transforming every engagement into a duel of wits and bluff.
RUSE cards are divided into four major categories:
Reveal Information (decryption, espionage)
Conceal Information (radio silence, camouflage)
Create Decoys (dummy units, false offensives)
Alter Unit Behavior (blitz, terror)
By combining these cards, you'll orchestrate complex strategies and turn the tide of battle.
In R.U.S.E, each faction embodies a great power of World War II, bringing its own units, specificities, and playstyles. Choosing a faction means adopting a different strategic approach, tailored to your preferences and personality as a strategist.
