Set across the Eastern Front from 1942 to 1945, the campaign follows Soviet penal battalions sent on dangerous missions. Players lead these soldiers through four connected campaigns.
Missions center on small groups facing fortified positions and larger enemy forces. Objectives include attacking trenches, capturing positions, and holding ground against counterattacks.
Issue real-time orders to squads or take direct control of an individual soldier. Ammunition and other supplies are limited, so players can search fallen soldiers and the battlefield for equipment, and make tactical use of captured weapons or vehicles.
Reviews that praise the game often highlight its grim penal-battalion setting, tense tactical challenge, and familiar Men of War combat, including direct control of soldiers. Critical reviews repeatedly point to similar trench-assault missions, punishing difficulty, unreliable AI, and crashes or other bugs. Responses to the challenge and campaign vary: some players find the demanding missions rewarding, while others consider them frustrating or repetitive.
Lead the forgotten. Fight the impossible.
