Battlestations: Pacific follows the U.S. and Japanese forces across two campaigns set during the Pacific War. Play through up to 28 missions that revisit historical battles or let you pursue an alternate ending to the war.
Plan battles from a strategic view, then take direct control of more than 100 air, sea, and underwater units, including fighters, bombers, ships, and submarines. Cockpit view puts you closer to the action when controlling aircraft.
The game combines strategy and direct action in its single-player campaigns. Online play offers five multiplayer modes, with battles featuring up to 100 units.
Reviewers praise Battlestations: Pacific for its naval and air combat and its blend of strategic command with direct control of ships and planes. Some also value returning to a game they enjoyed earlier or describe its gameplay as unusual among similar titles. Multiplayer is noted as still playable by some, while other reviewers focus on the effort required to get the PC version running.
