You play as the Untethered One, a biological alien weapon exploring the Bio-Chasm, a terraformed world created by the Grand Arborist and threatened by Hyperion's neural corruption. The campaign follows your efforts to navigate this conflict and learn about the world and its Nara inhabitants.
Move through connected areas by walking, jumping, climbing with picks, and swimming. Search for resources, hidden upgrades, lore, and other collectibles, solve environmental puzzles, and battle enemies and bosses using swords, guns, shields, and explosives.
Customize and paint three weapons with found or purchased mods, gather materials, refine scrap into alloy, and craft items such as healing syringes. The story campaign is accompanied by a replayable combat mode, while VR options let players adjust some interactions and controls.
