Dungeon Hearts fuses the strategy and pattern matching of puzzle games with the kinetic pace of action games. Align magical runes as they flow along the Fatestream to attack, defend, and conjure magic in frenetic battles against a bestiary of fantastic creatures out to use those same runes against you.

Dungeon Hearts follows four heroes battling creatures as they travel along the Fatestream, a moving track of magical runes. Each rune color corresponds to a hero, and enemy runes threaten the party if they are not cleared.
During combat, rearrange the runes to match three or more of the same color and trigger that hero’s attack or ability. Chain matches for stronger combos while clearing enemy runes, defending the party, and using heroes’ special powers.
Between encounters, level up the heroes and unlock abilities for attacks, healing, and other effects. Each adventure has a randomly generated sequence of battles across different environments, with varied enemies and bosses; defeated foes also reveal fragments of the story.
The supplied reviews are mixed on the experience. Some appreciate the unusual match-three-and-combat concept, combo opportunities, and music, while others find the rapid board flow and difficulty frustrating. Repetition over time and mouse-based controls also draw criticism in individual reviews.
