You lead a party of four friends on a westward journey through a zombie apocalypse in a station wagon. The trip unfolds through road encounters and hazards as you try to keep the group alive.
Manage supplies such as food, fuel, ammunition, and medical kits. Stop to scavenge, and take part in short action sequences to fight zombies, bandits, or other threats.
At towns, you can trade supplies, take jobs, rest, treat the party, and repair or upgrade the car. Choose a difficulty for the campaign or play an endless mode, with changing events and conditions shaping each trip.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its zombie twist on the Oregon Trail formula, its retro presentation, and the humor and surprises of the road events. Some find the resource-management journey and changing outcomes replayable, while others describe the loop as repetitive, too easy, or overly dependent on random events.
