Lead a party of distinct characters through a campaign in the northern frontier of Frosthaven. Complete quests, encounter varied enemies and environments, and gradually uncover more of the map and story.
Combat takes place in turn-based battles on hex-grid maps. Each round, choose two ability cards for a character; their top and bottom actions offer different attacks, movement, support, or special effects, while card choice also affects action order and resource use.
Between missions, gather resources and manage Frosthaven’s outpost by constructing and upgrading buildings. Campaign progress can unlock characters, cards, equipment, and further features. Play alone or cooperate online with up to three other players.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its tactical card decisions, distinctive character playstyles, and challenging missions that reward planning and cooperation. Reviews also value the digital version’s automation of tabletop bookkeeping and its outpost progression. Experiences are mixed, with many reviewers also reporting bugs, multiplayer connection problems, and unclear card or scenario information.
After a successful year-long run in Early Access, FROSTHAVEN will officially launch on October 15, 2026! The full 1.0 version of the game will introduce a haul of new content and include all the content introduced during the game’s Early Access journey – giving you the complete FROSTHAVEN digital experience!
