Hermit and Pig

From the Devs

Hermit lives a quiet life alone in the woods with Pig…until the two are abruptly pulled into a corporate conspiracy.

A factory closure leaves people out of work and hungry. Wildlife starts behaving strangely. And rumors spread of a giant mushroom large enough to feed everyone.

Searching for this legendary Jumbo Fungo means fighting strange creatures, surviving exhausting conversations, and following clues that stretch far beyond the woods. Meanwhile, strange blue mushrooms begin calling to Hermit and Pig…

TIMED TURN-BASED COMBAT!

Battles play out against the clock. Read your enemy’s behavior, choose attacks carefully, and execute button combos before time runs out. Combos grow longer as the story progresses.

“A welcome sense of urgency and strategy in every battle.” — Polygon

CONVERSATION AS BATTLE!

Dialogue encounters function like combat. Say the wrong thing and take real cringe damage. Surviving awkward exchanges allows you to grow stronger and level up.

“Validates the internal struggle of social anxiety by turning it into a gameplay loop.” — GameRant

FORAGE AND SURVIVE!

Forage nearly 40 types of fungi to heal, cure status effects, and gain the edge in combat. Pig can sniff out enemy weaknesses in battle or truffles that double as revival items and currency.

“Engaging and fast paced combat, cozy vibes, and plenty of scrumptious mushrooms.” — Loot Level Chill

LEVEL UP DIFFERENTLY!

Progression rewards learning and execution. Each level grants a trinket point. Equip trinkets to customize your battle style. You only have so many points, so every choice matters.

“Standing out within the genre with its frenetic and consistently fun gameplay” — STWGames Italia

ADJUSTABLE CHALLENGE!

Hermit and Pig is designed around timed, combo-based combat and dialogue encounters. If you prefer a more relaxed experience, you can:

• Remove combos

• Disable timers

• Adjust overall difficulty

These options reduce pressure while preserving the story.

“The gameplay was innovative and the turn-based gameplay engaging.” — Minimap

NOT JUST ANOTHER EARTHBOUND-LIKE!

Hermit and Pig draws inspiration from classic RPGs, but it isn’t interested in nostalgia for its own sake. Its key-combo combat systems and dialogue battles create a constant sense of pressure, whether you’re fighting enemies or talking to people.

“A charming, retro RPG that does something different with a familiar formula” — Polygon
