Red is a swordswoman pursuing the Fox Demon when she discovers that the book-like world she inhabits is governed by a set destiny. She must fight through its changing realms and uncover the truth behind her existence.
Combat combines light and heavy attacks, dodges, and two chosen Ink skills. Skills, upgrades, and artifacts can be combined into run-specific builds, while their pairings also change the attacks and abilities of Red’s loyal pet. Different fighting forms offer distinct movesets.
Each run sends Red through combat areas where she can choose routes and collect temporary rewards before taking on stronger enemies and bosses. Between runs, players can unlock fighting forms and improve Red and her pet; higher difficulty settings and an Endless Challenge offer further tests.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its ink-wash visual style, fluid action, and the satisfaction of quickly growing powerful through skill and upgrade combinations. Several also enjoy trying different fighting forms and pet combinations, and find the approachable difficulty relaxing. Other reviews describe the challenge as uneven: early runs can feel too easy, while higher difficulties can become punishing and heavily dependent on numerical build strength.
