Deathless. The Hero Quest

Set in a world drawn from Slavic folklore, the game follows four heroes on quests against legendary enemies. Each has a distinct combat style: Varvara manipulates enemy positions, Vasilisa summons Nursemaids, Dobrynya favors defense, and Alyosha wields a sword and enchanted wand.

Battles are turn-based and driven by cards. Build a deck during each run, use relics to shape your strategy, and account for enemy positions: foes can move, and defeated enemies may remain as obstacles on the battlefield.

After battles, choose a route toward the next encounter, weighing tougher challenges against better rewards. Hero quest chains unfold across runs, while card unlocks, relics, and increasingly difficult bosses offer further goals.

Players often praise the hand-drawn presentation and Slavic folklore setting, along with the distinct playstyles of the four heroes and the tactical decisions in card combat. Reviews also appreciate the bestiary, character stories, and music. Some players, however, find runs repetitive or slow, and criticize the randomness of card rewards and uneven difficulty, especially in later encounters.
