Blood Card is a single-player roguelike deckbuilder in which you battle through a dungeon while Death pursues you. You can try to escape or take on Death and the final boss.
Combat is turn-based: draw cards, spend mana to play attacks, defenses, equipment, and abilities, and build combinations to defeat enemies. Your draw-pile cards also represent your health; taking damage removes cards, and an empty draw pile ends the run.
Choose which encounters to face, including regular and elite monsters, shops, and events, or skip some opportunities. Victories and other encounters can add cards to your deck, while random battles, bosses, and card rewards shape each run. The game also includes challenge modes and adjustable custom runs.
Players who enjoy the game often praise it as a fun deckbuilder, especially for making cards serve as health and for letting them choose encounters rather than follow a fixed route. Reviews also highlight experimenting with card combinations and using Death’s attacks against enemies. Some appreciate the adjustable challenge, while one player reports that the animations caused motion sickness.
