Shantae, a half-genie guardian, sets out across Sequin Land to foil the pirate Risky Boots. The adventure takes her through places including deserts, forests, caverns, and labyrinths.
Explore connected 2D areas, platform across hazards, fight enemies with Shantae’s hair whip and magical attacks, and talk to characters along the way. Some areas use layered paths that let you move between foreground and background.
Dance transformations let Shantae take forms such as a monkey, elephant, and mermaid, each useful for reaching different places or overcoming obstacles. Find upgrades and collectibles as you progress; the Director’s Cut also includes a warp system and an unlockable Magic Mode.
