Creeper World 3 is what happens when cellular automata takes over a strategy simulation. Instead of discrete units that attack your base, a fluid-like substance spreads over the terraformable terrain. Your base, your weapons, your strategy... you must adapt them all.

Across a campaign of worlds, you build defenses against the Creeper, a fluid-like enemy that spreads over terrain rather than attacking in units. Its changing depth and reach shape where you can safely build and expand.
Establish an energy network to supply structures and weapons, then defend your foothold and advance across the map. Build guns and other facilities, reshape terrain, and choose when to hold position or push into the Creeper; you can pause to plan and issue commands.
Campaign missions introduce additional enemies, weapons, and mechanics. Beyond the story, you can play generated and developer-made worlds, browse player-created maps, or use the map editor and scripting tools to make new content.
Players often praise the unusual challenge of pushing back a liquid enemy, especially the tense opening of missions as they expand their energy network and establish defenses. Many find the planning and gradual advance satisfying, with a pace that can feel relaxing between more pressured moments. Reviews also highlight the large selection of extra and community-made maps as a reason to keep playing, though some players find missions repetitive once defenses are stable.
