During Gensokyo’s Lunar Capital Exhibition, a strange full moon brings the night to a halt and draws unusual youkai into the festivities. You take the role of a playable character investigating the disturbance through a series of shooting stages.
Dodge enemy fire, defeat waves of foes, and face bosses whose attacks use distinctive patterns and special gimmicks. Switch between shot types and build energy to activate a powered-up state that strengthens your attacks and helps protect you; bombs and other defensive resources provide further ways to survive.
The game offers multiple difficulty levels, including tougher challenge options, and an Extra stage beyond the main route. Clearing stages and challenges gives you further content to tackle, while the forgiving baseline systems make the main game accessible to newer players.

Under the influence of the second spring snow "incident", Gensokyo passed a brief summer and welcomed the autumn wind. The annual Mid-Autumn Festival event - the Lunar Capital Exhibition - was held as scheduled, but this year seemed livelier than usual. As the full moon, emitting strange moonlight, rose, a huge curtain that spanned Gensokyo had quietly fallen. Before everyone could react, the night sky of Gensokyo had completely paused, and many youkai that were usually only heard in rumors had appeared. And tonight's Lunar Capital Exhibition banquet was attracting batches of nearby youkai to come...

For her, countless deadly battles took place in the bamboo forest every day, and sudden large-scale conflicts like this were nothing out of the ordinary. However, as she watched the youkai uprising gradually escalate to a point where both Keine and Mokou were struggling to cope, and even Keine began to act strangely, she finally decided not to stay out of it any longer.
