As Colossatropolis moves to expand into neighboring Mungola, you pilot the F-27 Platypus, one of the aircraft defending the country from the invading fleet.
Fly through scrolling stages, shoot down enemies and bosses, and dodge incoming fire. Collect weapon power-ups—or shoot them to change their type—and gather fruit dropped by larger enemies for points.
Choose a ship and difficulty, then replay stages or campaign runs to improve scores. The game also offers local two-player co-op, classic and score-focused modes, and support for custom content.
Players frequently praise the handcrafted clay visuals and the way the remake recalls the original, while also appreciating its added content and playful weapon selection. Reviewers new to the series also describe enjoying the straightforward arcade shooting, though some find the challenge punishing, especially when losing power-ups makes later encounters harder.
