In matches of 4–10 players, you take the role of a Crewmate or an Impostor. Crewmates work to finish tasks or identify and eject the Impostor; Impostors try to eliminate the crew while avoiding suspicion.
Players move through 3D maps in first person, completing tasks, watching and listening for suspicious activity, and responding to sabotages. Emergency Meetings give the group a chance to discuss what happened and vote.
Classic matches can include additional roles, and custom lobbies let hosts adjust gameplay settings. Tag Mode pits Infected players against Crewmates, who must complete tasks before they are caught. Communication options include proximity voice chat, quick text chat, and gestures.

In Classic gameplay, play as either Crewmate or Impostor.
