You play as a newly minted member of the Thieves’ Guild in Kilcairn, an alternate-history Scottish city where early technology and magic meet. Choose one of two thieves and take on heists alone or with a co-op partner.
Each mission sends you into a guarded landmark to find clues and objectives, gather loot, and get out. Avoid guards, cameras, turrets, and traps by using shadows, observation, and tools such as smoke bombs, a grappling hook, and devices that interact with security from a distance.
The campaign offers 16 contracts across two maps, with changing guard and security arrangements between runs. Completing contracts and gaining experience unlocks higher difficulties, gear, and the second thief; the missions also include time limits and a countdown to escape after the main objective.
Reviewers who enjoyed the game often praised its stealth-and-loot loop, stylized atmosphere, tools, and the fun of tackling heists with a friend. Others found the two-map campaign repetitive, objected to the mission timers, or felt co-op offered little teamwork beyond sharing the work. Some also described the release as feeling unfinished and pointed to missing settings.
