Riff Racer turns music into arcade racetracks. You drive through tracks designed around a song’s structure, with checkpoints tied to sections such as verses, choruses and drops.
Stay in sync with the audio to score points, and use jumps, drifts and rolls to boost your run. The game includes 25 bundled songs and was designed to generate tracks from players’ music files.
Music genres shape the track environments and car styles. Players can compete on track leaderboards, challenge friends’ ghosts, and work out how to unlock hidden cars.
Some supplied reviews recall the music-driven racing as relaxing, fun, and especially enjoyable with friends and shared playlists. Many others focus on the loss of server-dependent track generation, which prevents them from racing to their own music and leaves disappointment about a distinctive feature.
