In the Metal Slug universe, you command a force of soldiers, vehicles, aliens and other units against an enemy army. Each battle plays out on a single lane, with both sides sending troops toward the opposing base.
Build up resources during combat to deploy units, then use their special attacks and abilities to influence the fight. Choosing when to send each unit and how to combine your forces is central to pushing through enemy defenses.
Campaign stages and missions provide battles and opportunities to expand your roster. You can upgrade units and base functions, while hidden captives and other rewards offer additional ways to develop your forces.
Players who enjoy the game often value its nostalgic return to the Metal Slug world, especially its familiar pixel-art style, characters and music.
