An old-fashioned beat 'em up with big doses of adrenaline and trippiness, somewhere between the classic style of Streets of Rage and the ultra-violence of Hotline Miami. Set in a cold, ruthless Soviet Union, Mother Russia Bleeds aims to conjure up anxiety, unease, and drug-addled frenzy.

Set in an alternate Soviet Union, Mother Russia Bleeds follows a group of imprisoned street fighters as they struggle against the criminal authorities and the drug addiction forced upon them. Play solo or choose a fighter to take through the story campaign.
Fight through side-scrolling stages using punches, kicks, grabs, throws, and weapons picked up along the way. Encounters include environmental hazards and battles with special rules, while bosses call for different approaches.
Nekro, extracted from fallen foes, can be injected to restore health or trigger a more aggressive state. Local co-op supports up to four players, and Survival Mode and arena challenges offer additional ways to fight.
In the supplied reviews, players often enjoy the gritty pixel-art atmosphere, soundtrack, and chaotic brawling, especially in local co-op. Some also praise the varied set-piece encounters and boss mechanics. Criticism most often focuses on awkward hit detection and demanding difficulty, with some players also finding the campaign short or the final boss frustrating.
