The Takeover is a side-scrolling beat'em up inspired by 90's classics such as Streets of Rage and Final Fight. Battle solo or alongside a friend in local co-op while listening to awesome tunes from Little V Mills, Richie Branson, James Ronald and industry legend Yuzo Koshiro!

A criminal organization has taken over the city and kidnapped a child. Play as one of four fighters pursuing the gangs and working to bring her back.
Fight with punches, kicks, grabs, and special moves, linking attacks into combos that build a Super meter. Pick up weapons scattered through levels, and use each character’s sidearm when ammunition allows.
The campaign spans seven stages and more than 20 locations, with vehicle and jet-shooting sequences breaking up the brawling. Arcade, Survival, and Challenge modes offer other ways to play; choose a difficulty, team up in local co-op, or unlock Relay Mode to switch fighters during a run.
Players who enjoy The TakeOver often point to its energetic soundtrack, striking visual style, and combo-focused brawling, along with its nostalgic arcade feel. Some also welcome the vehicle and jet sequences and local co-op. Reviews are mixed on the combat’s depth and flow: recurring criticisms include repetitive encounters, awkward controls, predictable bosses, and uneven difficulty.
