LiEat follows Efina, a young dragon who eats lies that take physical form, and her caretaker Leo, a con artist who changes his name and identity from town to town. As they travel together, they investigate local mysteries and gradually learn more about themselves.
The collection contains three linked, bite-sized chapters, each centered on a different setting and mystery. Players explore pixel-art environments, talk with residents, inspect people and objects for clues, and solve small puzzles to move the story forward.
Turn-based battles pit the pair against manifested lies and other threats, with Efina able to consume the lies after a fight. Each chapter also has its own exploration and progression, and hidden items, optional conversations, achievements, and alternate endings offer reasons to look around carefully.
Players who enjoy LiEat often praise its connected short stories, memorable characters, and the evolving bond between Efina and Leo; some find the tales sweet and funny, while others appreciate their darker emotional turns. The custom pixel art, illustrations, animated scenes, and music also come up positively. Criticism most often focuses on the light, easy combat and occasional uncertainty about what to inspect or whom to speak to next; some players also wish the three chapters were longer.
