1492 - Colonization of the New World

From the Devs

Rediscover the spirit of exploration and nation-building in 1492: Colonization of the New World, a turn-based strategy game set during the Age of Discovery. Build and govern your colonies—rather than the distant empire—guiding them from fragile footholds into thriving societies. Ultimately, you will decide when, and how, to break free from the Crown and achieve independence. Inspired by Sid Meier’s Colonization, this modern reimagining preserves the core spirit while introducing new units, refined systems, and an additional path to victory.

Tasked with expanding the reach of one of Europe’s great powers, you’ll set sail for the New World, seeking glory, wealth, and a place in history. Build your settlements from humble outposts into prosperous communities, shaped by your decisions and priorities.

Establish settlements in the untamed wilderness, manage your growing colonial population, and develop prosperous towns across a vast continent. Recruit specialists, cultivate resources, and trade goods both locally and with your homeland to support your growing economy. Interact with indigenous peoples, forming alliances or facing conflict as you expand your influence.

Navigate complex relationships with European rivals and the Crown, balancing loyalty with growing autonomy while advancing your economy and infrastructure. Prepare your colonies for self-rule—whether through revolution or by securing independence through economic strength. Do you have the vision, leadership, and strategy to unite your people and withstand the might of the Old World?
