Maktala: Slime Lootfest

You fight slimes by moving your cursor over areas of the field to deal damage. Runs are organized into stages, where defeating enough enemies advances you to the next one.

Slimes provide currency and loot, which you use to improve your ability to clear later stages. New systems unlock as you progress, including combat skills and attacks from an archer or towers.

Progression also includes a skill tree, equipment such as gems and runes, and rare shiny slimes that provide bonuses. You can gather ore and refine it into gems to customize and enhance your build.

Some players enjoy the game as a short, low-pressure incremental experience, citing its steady unlocks, simple mouse-based play, and appeal as a relaxed game to play for a few hours. Others repeatedly criticize the slow grind, repetitive stages and enemies, and upgrades that often do not make them feel much stronger or offer meaningful choices.
