Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is a multiplayer team-based shooter set during the Vietnam War. Players join forces from six factions, fighting as part of battles with up to 64 players across more than 20 maps.
Combat centers on capturing objectives and fighting through jungles, fields, and urban areas with a large selection of firearms and support weapons. The opposing sides use different tactics: southern forces can call in air support and fly helicopters, while northern forces can deploy traps and spawn tunnels.
Players can take on different combat roles and support their teams through squad spawns, commander abilities, and coordinated attacks. Multiple game modes include a multiplayer campaign where teams choose which territory to attack, with available forces and abilities varying by period of the war.
Players who praise the game often point to its tense Vietnam War atmosphere, impactful gunplay, and blend of accessible action with tactical play. Reviews also highlight the distinct approaches of the opposing factions, helicopter combat, and teamwork across varied battles. Alongside that enjoyment, some players report sparse active servers and technical or support problems.
