You play as a newly appointed police chief in Winston Springs, taking over a run-down county station while crime affects the surrounding area. The prologue combines first-person police work with running and restoring the station.
Handle residents’ crime reports by checking their information, then examine cases by comparing details and connecting clues on a detective board. You can also clean and repair the station, gather supplies, and explore the town on foot or by car.
Casework and arrests provide funds for station improvements and equipment. The broader progression described includes hiring officers, detectives, and office staff, managing resources, and sending patrol units into county districts.
In the supplied reviews, players who enjoy the prologue often praise its mix of station restoration, paperwork, casework, and management, as well as its setting and presentation. Others find the chores repetitive, the investigations too simple, or the prologue too short to show much of the larger game.
