The Final Station

You play as a train driver traveling through a world devastated by infection. The journey unfolds across five chapters, with inhabited stations marking the ends of chapters and abandoned places along the route.

At each stop, leave the relative safety of the train to search buildings for supplies and survivors while avoiding or fighting infected. Ammunition is limited, so you must make careful use of what you find.

Between stations, keep the train operational and care for any passengers you take aboard by tending to their health and hunger. Scavenged resources can be crafted into useful items, and loot can be sold at inhabited stations for weapon upgrades.

Players often praise the game’s desolate atmosphere, pixel-art environments, music, and the mystery pieced together through exploration, notes, and passenger conversations. Some also enjoy the shift between scavenging infected stations and managing the train, though others find the systems simple or the train duties too distracting to follow the dialogue. Short length and, for some players, an unclear story are recurring reservations.
