光与影之恋 Chiaroscuro Lovers

From the Devs

Chiaroscuro Lovers is a story about memory, trauma, and love.

You will step into the world through the eyes of Chu Hebai,
entering a reality that is slowly falling apart.

Caught between memory and reality,
you will search for what has already been lost—
and what has yet to be lost.

And in the end, you may come to realize:

“This world… is a little kinder than you imagined.”

Story

“I”—Chu Hebai—lost my memory eleven years ago.

In that time, the world has changed beyond recognition.
A global catastrophe known as the “Great Collapse”
has left everything on the brink of ruin.

My family’s corporation thrived in the chaos,
gaining immense wealth—
and attracting endless conflict in return.

And yet, I alone remained abroad,
living a quiet, peaceful life for eleven years.

But that peace could never last.

The news of my grandfather’s death
calls me back to my homeland.

What awaits me there is not only loss—
but long-buried memories,
and a farewell that was never completed.

“Everyone knows Chu Hebai…except me.”

About the “Great Collapse”

A global geological disaster caused by increasingly intense tectonic activity.

Its effects continue to spread,
with no sign of stopping.

About the “Chu Group”

A powerful corporate conglomerate specializing in
extreme-environment protection technologies and biomedical science.

While it has profited greatly from the Great Collapse,
it has also become the target of both internal and external threats.

In recent years, new challenges continue to emerge.

About the “Lamplighter,” the “Psychologist,” and the “Consultation Room”

Figures and places that have lived within Chu Hebai’s mind for eleven years.

Each with their own intentions—
yet when danger comes,
they will not hesitate to light a guiding flame for her.

Characters

Chu Hebai

CV: Linghun Monü
Age: 22

“You are the mirror of this world to me.”

The second daughter of the Chu family, once known as a prodigy.

Now suffering from psychogenic blindness,
she frequently experiences hallucinations — both auditory and visual.

Chu Heyu

CV: Yu Wei
Age: 23

“If you must hate someone… hate me.”

The eldest daughter of the Chu family and its current head.

A brilliant strategist, almost flawless in control.

She governs everything with precision—

except for certain things
she chooses not to confront.

She is gentle toward Hebai.
Perhaps… too gentle.

Yu Lin

CV: Qian Mingling
Age: 22

“You always say the strangest things…”

The current director of Chu Medical.

A rare medical genius, disciplined and deeply rational.

She believes in science, logic, and observable truth—

yet Hebai represents something she cannot fully explain.

And that uncertainty begins to change her.

The Lamplighter

CV: Yu Wei
Age: ??

“Hmm? You don’t like this story?”

A presence only Hebai can perceive.

Carefree, talkative, and endlessly amused.

She helps “illuminate” memories,
fills in the gaps,
and explains what doesn’t make sense.

She always seems to know more than she says.

And she never answers questions directly.

Some lights will be lit.

And some darkness, should not be forced into the light.
